Monad Joins Forces with Chainlink Scale to Accelerate Ecosystem Development

Key Takeaways:

  • Monad partners with Chainlink Scale to obtain secure, inexpensive, and decentralized data feeds.
  • Monad’s DeFi capabilities expand with Chainlink CCIP & data streams integration.
  • The partnership has put Monad in a position to attract developers with its promise of scalability and real-time data.

Monad Leverages Chainlink’s Oracle Strength

Monad, a high-performance new Layer-1 blockchain, has plugged into the Chainlink Scale program to jumpstart its ecosystem. The partnership provides Monad with access to highly secure and tamper-proof Chainlink oracle services such as Data Feeds, Data Streams, and Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP).

Chainlink plays a critical role in enabling blockchain ecosystems to interact with real-world information in a secure and reliable way. As Monad integrates with Chainlink’s trusted oracle network, it positions itself at the forefront of innovation, and we can expect more decentralized finance (DeFi) and cross-chain projects to adopt Monad’s platform. Chainlink’s oracle nodes will provide Monad with real-time data from a diverse range of asset classes, including Proof of Reserve and other critical financial information. Monad’s smart contracts can securely interact with real-world data, a key requirement for building reliable, dynamic, and scalable DeFi applications that handle complex financial transactions across networks.

Developers Need Their Own Infrastructure Stack

Monad stands out with a TPS of 10,000+ and a block time of 0.5 seconds, while maintaining full compatibility with the EVM. While many of their other Layer-1 counterparts focus on optimizing one specific area of the blockchain trilemma (security, decentralization, or scalability), Monad aims to achieve all three through technical innovation.

Its four main technologies—MonadBFT, Asynchronous Execution, Parallel Execution, and MonadDb—are all aiming to put throughput first, at no cost to decentralization or finality. Such features allow developers to build dApps that operate quickly and cost-effectively while maintaining data integrity.

Keone Hon, Monad’s Co-Founder and CEO, stated that Chainlink’s infrastructure would provide Monad with pricing and market data needed for next-generation DeFi. He added that ultra-reliable data feeds are fundamental for powering the next generation of real-time decentralized apps in DeFi.

Using Chainlink CCIP and Data Streams on Monad

As part of this integration, Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Data Streams are being deployed on the Monad Testnet, paving the way for robust cross-chain functionality and real-time data access. CCIP will enable Monad to communicate with a variety of other blockchain networks, facilitating seamless interoperability between them. Meanwhile, Data Streams will provide a continuous, high-throughput feed of data to Monad’s smart contracts, which is crucial for building applications that rely on dynamic and ever-changing data, such as decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.

CCIP facilitates seamless communication between disparate blockchains, while Data Streams provide an ongoing, high-throughput feed of data to smart contracts, capable of supporting up to 1,000 unique data points per second.

The advancement follows Chainlink’s recent upgrade to its data streaming framework, known as Multistream, which brings parallelism and efficiency to data flow mechanisms. Now, Monad’s Testnet environment enables developers to create and test real-time DeFi products with higher flexibility and lower operation risk.

Monad’s integration is an important milestone in expanding the capabilities of DeFi, said Johann Eid, chief business officer at Chainlink Labs. He added that tamper-proof data feeds enable developers to experiment with building new types of financial products and user experiences that previously were constrained by latency and inaccuracy.

A Move in the Direction of Interoperability on Blockchain

The move to join Chainlink Scale is not just a technical upgrade—it is also a strategic alignment with one of the most trusted infrastructure providers in the Web3 space. The widespread adoption of Chainlink across all industries showcases the importance of reliable off-chain data for the on-chain economy.

Using Chainlink’s oracles, Monad is uniquely equipped to meet the needs of both institutional and retail dApp developers who require scalability, accuracy, and transparency. The integration is likely to accelerate long-term adoption, particularly for teams developing complex DeFi protocols, prediction markets, and cross-chain applications.

Monad, while already regarded for its single-slot finality and hardware-friendly architecture, is quickly emerging as the home for EVM developers seeking more scalability — all without forfeiting the Ethereum ecosystem.

With the maturation of blockchain technology, the demand for scalable, secure, and data-rich environments has increased. Monad’s collaboration with Chainlink is a strong message to developers and institutions: the network is ready to support the next phase of blockchain applications.
