Is Satoshi Nakamoto Finally Revealed? New Claim Emerges on Bitcoin’s Whitepaper Anniversary

A new press release has ignited speculation around the long-standing mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity, claiming that the true creator of Bitcoin will be revealed during a live press conference on October 31, 2024—the 16th anniversary of Bitcoin’s whitepaper release.

The self-proclaimed Satoshi states that mounting legal pressures have prompted them to step forward and publicly confirm their identity. The organizers of the event promise a “live demonstration” to verify the individual’s claims and intend to highlight locations associated with the development of Bitcoin and blockchain technology.

Another “Satoshi” in the Spotlight

Since Bitcoin’s inception in 2008, several individuals have claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto. Among them, Craig Wright famously made such a claim, only to be debunked by a UK court in March, citing overwhelming evidence against his assertions and allegations of forgery. This recent announcement has stirred intrigue but also skepticism, as many in the crypto community question the credibility of yet another unproven claim.

Adding fuel to the debate, HBO recently unveiled a documentary delving into the search for Bitcoin’s elusive creator, suggesting Peter Todd, a well-known Bitcoin core developer, as a potential Satoshi. Todd, however, has since gone into hiding, citing safety concerns following these allegations.

Crypto Community’s Doubts and Controversial Ties

Cullen Hoback, the filmmaker behind HBO’s Satoshi documentary, has dismissed this latest “reveal” as a hoax, questioning the legitimacy of the event. Additionally, event organizer Charles Anderson has reported connections to Stephen Mollah, a British businessman facing fraud charges for previously claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto.

Mollah allegedly deceived an individual, Dalmit Dohil, by claiming control over 165,000 Bitcoins supposedly held in Singapore, which led to substantial financial losses for Dohil. Mollah and Anderson’s roles in the case, which goes to trial on November 3, 2025, have cast a shadow of doubt over this latest Satoshi “reveal,” as neither has pleaded guilty to the fraud charges.
